I'm sure a lot of you are aware but for those who are not...I was told this morning when calling to reserve my area at Big Oaks that should the government shutdown continue there will be no hunting in Big Oaks. Many thanks to our d-bag prez

From what I hear this might help the population at Big Oaks.

What else does it affect? Can people still purchase licenses?Check deer in? Guess I'm not sure if it affects IN gov or just National issue? Lots of questions out there I'm sure.

Just bumping this back up to the top to be sure everyone is aware who was hoping to hunt downt here this weekend. I called this morning and he said the hunt will NOT happen if the govt isn't back up and running. Now it's gone to far when it starts to effect our deer season!!! wink

How long will it take to open them back up when they get funding? Ive got a 2 day hunt coming up at BO and have rooms reserved in Madison that want a 48 hour cancellation notice. h.h.

Called this week about my Oct 19/20 primitive hunt. Was told they would prob need a full days lead time to be open for a hunt. I.E. if govt opens on Fri afternoon don't expect to hunt Saturday. Guess as it relates to my hunt I hope govt reopens on wed or th next week.

Yeah it stinks for us not having any oaks dropping. Only one we do have is at the lodge we stay at. We had a mild summer to.

Ya that sounds like a stroke of bad luck French. Everything I'm hearing is that oaks are loaded and my white oaks on the lease are dropping as i type. Hopin this cool front helps movement this weekend...even though there is still standing corn surrounding me.

They told me they would need at least a full day of time to prepair for people to come in the gate. so I would assume if Goverment goes on Thursday the hunt would happen this weekend. Im on there on the 4th and would rather be in there for the primitive hunt but didnt get drawn. Good luck if you guys get to hunt.
