DANG!!! Nice catch bean and Luke!!! That may be the one that left that track at my place! He's a buster!!!! I pulled all of my coon daggers. Haven't caught squat, in one for a long while. Rabbit hunted the farm, and a couple adjoining places today. We did not see very much coon sign. I set a DP in a barn that had some tracks today.

Caught a small one last night and best part was it was the last trap I checked closest to the truck so I didn't have to haul it very far at all

Nice coons catches everybody. We are making a nice little push here before the end of the season!

While waiting on a cow to have a calf before I went to work, I went and checked a few this morning. Had this one in a cable. Not a big one, but a nicely colored/and primed one.

This bob-tailed rough looking old boar was caught by either Goodyears, or Michelins on 22" Sprewell rims at the intersection of 22'nd and College, downtown Indianapolis!!!! laugh Hey….I'm not too proud to pass up $10.00!!!! :p

Hey, is anybody eating these things? Seriously. I used to work with a guy at a factory in Lafayette that brought coon burgers every night for a month or so during the winter for folks to eat at lunch. I didn't have the stomach for it but quite a few guys did.

Nice catches guys!

When I was a kid my Dad killed a young one and had Mom fry it up. Not bad from what I recall. Young groundhog about the same.

We used to make a point to roast one once a year. Just did it like a roast as I remember with potatoes and carrots. Not bad at all actually, got to remember to find and remove a few glands. We quit after a couple distemper out breaks several years back, though realistically its pretty easy to spot an unhealthy one.

Caught 1 muddy boar last for number 24. I for the life of me cannot imagine how some guys catch 100's of coon in one year. They must have more coon in there areas.

2 more cons, 3 skunks (4 in 2 days) and a 2 mile possum that has to be the smallest catch known to mankind.

The fields I normally drive through to get to my sets are very muddy. I make the daily walk which is right at a mile to my farthest set. I had high hopes since there were a lot of coon tracks after this warm up. All I caught was this grinner.

[Linked Image]

Thought about letting him go but didn't want him messing up my sets again.

Not a bad day….Ended up with this one on a different part of the farm this evening. Two on cables, and one roadkill!! What REALLY tics me off is I had two DP's literally not 4' away from this coon, and he gets caught, ruins a snare, and tears up my "coyote" hole! laugh At least I'm catching…...

I got blanked on this mornings check. I'm pulling out of that farm in the morning. I've been setting on trails leading to corn fields and rock outcroppings that contain dens.
Creeks were out of their banks when I set Saturday. This morning the water had fully retreated and there were fresh coon tracks in the sand and mud banks. Another lesson learned they seem to go hunting for food after water goes down. From now on I'm going to try some DP's or PVC sets on the creek banks.

Caught this small boar today in a dp. That makes 27 so far for us. 25 in dp's and 2 in snares if my notes are correct. I have caught 0 in pocket sets.

Makes 28. 26 in DP's, 2 in snares, and 23 were caught in/around barns. 5 were caught by the creek. Interesting this thing called trapping.

WTG guys!!!!! I can't believe your boars are not all rutted up and lost the hair on their necks and shoulders. The last three I had were, with today's being the worse. If I'd had seen how bad todays boar was, I'd cut him loose. He is not worth $2.00! I did learn something with this coon today however. You can snare em where they walk across a concrete header that is only a foot wide. I would think you could also snare em on logs crossing creeks, etc. I'm about done with the coons. Too many coyote sets out now, and too much time involved getting them all ran every day. I need to figure out how many I have for the year.
25 coon caught. 2 released.

Here are three of the four coon I caught Tuesday morning.

And here is the fourth hammered by a 160 set in the trail through the brush. I haven't noticed any major rubs yet a couple faint ones but nothing like Yaz posted.

Caught 2 more nice boars last night for #29 and #30. They don't have a mark on them except for the pellet in their head. Had a good week. Caught 13 since last Saturday.

Yee hawww - we reached our goal to catch 30 coons. Caught 2 boars last night. Couple more weeks to go BUT we are going after coyotes double time now. Might try beaver as well.

Nice catches PB.
