So Lainey was trying to follow up on her opening day 8 pointer from last year with a bigger deer. I told her that it took me almost 20 years to kill a deer as big as she did after 1-1/2 hours of hunting. She seemed undaunted and we planned to hunt the exact same spot. As we get to the area, I choose what I thought was the right tree but as the day dawned I realized I was one tree and about 20 yards off. I hope that didn't jinx us because nothing showed up the time we were there. At 9:30 we decide to take a walk and head down towards a pond nearby. As soon as we get to the pond about 50 75 yards away, were hear a deer blowing from the exact spot we we sitting. At any rate, we had a great morning and learned a lesson to stay put longer.
Here's Lainey on post.
And here is a massive waterplant down at the lake. These things are taking over the lake. Anyone know what they are?
The seedpod.
