John Scifres OP Hoosier Hunter Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 1,338	So I set James on a well traveled trail in the rain this morning. At 8:25 2 deer show up and James first shot is a clean miss but the second shot struck home. James took a shot at the other doe but it just walked off. No hair or blood along a known travel path for 100 yards confirmed our suspicion of a miss. James and I teamed up on his first deer a few years ago but sports and other conflicts limited James hunting time and some other struggles have added up to a dry spell of 4 years. But he got it done this morning. I couldn't be prouder if it was a Booner. He's not fond of field dressing but got through it beautifully. Not a drop of guts were spilled and the meat is going to be wonderful. Here we are back at home.
