Huntnfreak OP Hoosier Hunter Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 128 in the woods	Saturday Sept. 28, 2013 will go down as the BEST day of hunting I've ever had! My boys and I had an exciting yet short hunt. We got settled in our buddy stand at about 7:05(running a little behind) and shortly thereafter my youngest says "Dad there's a fox over there eating on the corn". As I'm trying to find this fox I see that it's a deer through the brush. I said "That's a nice doe boys"! I take a look through the binos and see that it's a small buck instead, but I didn't tell them. I tell my oldest to get the gun on the shooting rail and aim through our shooting lane! As the deer makes its way into a small window off to our left my oldest says "It's a buck Dad"! I told him to click the safety off and aim just above those yellow weeds below us because that's where he'll step out from behind the cedar tree! As the buck keeps walking through I let out a mouth bleat to stop him at 15 yards and the .410 barked!! It was 7:25..a 15 min. hunt! My youngest says "Dad I saw his back legs kick up in the air". I told them that's a sign of a good hit!! Keeping those boys in the tree for 30 minutes was the hardest part of the day..they were ready to track! My youngest found first blood that I had stepped past and we all tracked the easy blood trail together!! Man what a feeling!!! 110 lbs...4 Pointer 2015 Turkey Contest Champs
