I have known about Indiana possibly making a spring squirrel season this year or next but I wanted to know if any of you guys knew anything about it...?

No I havnt, but why a spring season ? I wouldnt want to kill a mom with young still nursing and in the nest...kinda hard to tell male/female at 30 yds, even thru a scope ;0)
Squirrel season is for when the hickory's are ripe and the squirrels are hitting acorns and cutting the hickory's .... IMO ....

Me along with another member here shot and ate 38 last year... Didn't even put a dent in them. No need for spring tree rat season..effort would be better spent doing other outdoor things..

Kentucky has a spring season. The seasons coincide with the mating season. From my understanding there is not an issue with baby squirrels at that time as they are old enough to be gone. Season is then closed for next litter until fall season.

You ever hunt them down there in the spring???

How was the experience if you have?

I lived there for 2 1/2 years but never squirrel hunted in the spring. I would though now given the chance.

I'll opt for squirrels and rabbits any day over deer. Much more enjoyable and relaxing to me.

I'd go for a spring season for sure. Michigan has one also I believe. Sure see a ton during that time period.
