Was coming home last night about 7:30 and saw 2 small deer standing on side of road, so stopped car so my grandson could look at them. Noticed one of them still had spots. Isn't that a little unusual for them to have spots this late? Think it was just born later in summer? How long before most of them lose their spots?

Trail cam check yesterday showed spots this week. Seen one last year opening day of gun that still had two rows of spots still on its back

I've seen them with spots the opening weekend of gun at check stations.

Wife and I stopped by the farm late this afternoon and as we drove down the road nearing our turn into the lane at the north woods, there was a guy stopped near the lane standing on the road. As we slowed there was spotted fawn laying dead in the road with a guy laying about 15 feet from her and his Harley laying about 30 feet past him. The young man was very lucky but did appear to have an arm or shoulder issue that was pretty bad. Took ambulance about 20 minutes to get from Monticello with an additional 5 squad cars. But, my point was, the fawn had strong visible spots that were going to be there for a couple of weeks at least.

I live next to a check station. Can't say the age of the hunters. I just see them in the backs of trucks when driving by.

I've seen fawns with spots on a few occassions during firearms season. Even saw one nurse in early november.
