Congrats to everyone who got a bird this year. I, for one, will be eating tag.

I broke a 6 year streak and didn't tag out, but however watching my son shoot his first bird and having to swim across a river to retrieve my dads bird, it was by far the most adventurous and satisfying turkey season of my life. Looking forward to deer season already!

I was fortunate to kill a bird opening day of KY season and my IN bird the second morning. Still hunted harder than I ever have as my 8yo wanted to go every day she was out of school. She never got to pull the trigger but had some great hunts hearing plenty of gobbles and seeing a lot of birds.

Killed a nice Tom in KY and a Jake in Indiana. I also helped two kids kill birds.

Popped a jake on the evening of opening day. My wife wanted to tag along, so I thought it would be cool to get a bird with her sitting next to me, otherwise the jake would have received a pass.

No turkey this year. I am convinced I could find something better to do at 3:00 in the morning instead of chasing these stupid (incredibly smart) birds!

Really thought I was going to have a shot a huge Scott County bird on Saturday but leave it to a couple hens to screw it all up!

Congrats to all those that scored!

6 years with out a bird...... yea SIX! I valle d two birds into my grandson without any bird to eat! I let 5 Jakes walk, I had one big tom come into call and spook out before a shot........

I am humbled by the bird, but it was by far one of my best seasons. The experience far out weighs the meat for the table or the feathers on the wall........

My brother and I doubled on a pair of jakes. My first bird in 6 years and the first double ever. Pretty cool to be able to share that experience .

Never got a chance to hunt for myself this season but was lucky enough to get two boys shots during our youth hunt resulting in one kill and one miss. Ranks as one of my best seasons. Congrats to all!

Well, birds are few and far in between up here in Porter co...only 39 spring birds were taken last season...I have taken 3 birds off the place in previous seasons however.... This season I heard and seen zilch while in the blind...did have tracks and pics of 4 birds in late March, then zilch, except for a few sets of tracks during season....I'm pulling the cameras and blind this week and I'll see if any are on pics....the southern portion of the state has it good for birds, you guys are lucky....The only mature Tom I saw was at 30 yds when I went for a run in the Nat. Lakeshore.... figures .....

I didn't get to go at all. My dad went into the hospital and passed away a week later just as the season started. I'm just now getting things squared away. Maybe next year. h.h.

Sorry for the loss hh, we had an ok season no kill in Tenn. But had some good days. Then I killed one and the next day called in two for my dad but that didn't work out. Then two days later my wife killed one. So an ok season.

I had a fun season. I can say that it was a little more frustrating this year than any that I can remember, but that is hunting and year to year it will be different. I really struggled this year putting birds in shooting range for my daughters. Some of that was my fault, I will admit. I focused on one bird that was as stubborn as any bird that I have ever run across. I should have just moved on, but it got personal with that bird ... LOL. Some of the struggles were due the extreme rains that we got at the very start of the season up here. My best properties flooded out with all that rain that we got from right before the kid's season and for that first week. Those properties are just now getting firm enough to walk on. It was crazy how much rain we got. But probably our biggest struggle was a lack of time to hunt. My daughters are getting older and in so many activities now. Mornings are nearly impossible to get out for them and evenings are tough as well. But we made the best of it and hunted what we could. When they did hunt they hunted hard. Both missed birds (one was with an Xbow at a bobbing and weaving head, the other was with a shot gun at 7 yards). Both of the girls tromped through ankle deep mud, sat with water running through the floor of the blind, and bundled up in heavy layers of clothes on multiple hunts. It was tough at times, but I wouldn't trade a minute of the season for anything else. First time since either of them started turkey hunting that they did not get birds.

Personally, I wasn't picky and that I don't regret at all. Two Jakes with the bow on video (one Indiana, one Michigan). No Regrets!

It is turkey hunting so it is all good. Every year has its challenges, some years more than others. I know this though ... 2014 spring turkey season cannot get here soon enough!

Great year, My 1st gobbler back home in Western New York. 25lb 2 oz, 10 1/2" beard, 1 1/2" spurs. The best to date with my family back home. My son got his first which was a 15 lb. Jake with a 5 1/2 beard. Great trip this year. Will try to post some pics soon.

No bird for me this year. Luke shot one at 20 yards that was a 22# jake. If I rememeber right -by Luke shooting that bird it tied me with how mnay I have called in for people and how many I have killed.

I have some cool video to put up after I have time to edit it.

Had a draw at BO but had to back out due to knee issues. Maybe next year.

I had a shot and a miss. Some great hunts alone. Highlight of the season was my hunting partner getting his first spring gobbler, even though I wasn't there, it was awesome to hear his story and excitement. Seeing the amount and quality of toms was pure excitement too, small measures in habitat enhancement have paid off. I really don't care I didn't bag a bird this year. smile

I had a great season calling in my largest bird ever. I had my dad set up in front of me trying to get a bird called in for him. I had the gun up and the bird in range for over 10 minutes while waiting for it to clear some trees so my dad could take it. Finally it did and what a bird -- 31 lbs. I've called in 2 26lber's before but never a bird in this weight range.

As for myself, it was the first time I can remember since 1990 that I did not take a bird. Weird combination of weather and days I had other obligations. Just never got another opportunity on a mature tom. I did pass up a bearded hen and some jakes early in the season.

Next year starts another streak... I hope its a good one. smile

Had the same kind of season. Took two boys out during youth hunt and one killed and the other got a shot. One of the best turkey seasons I've had not taking a bird.
