Has there been any up date on this screwup??
Do the COs say they will enforce the way the laws are written or the intent of the laws.
Do you think the governor will step in to correct this before gun season starts.

Not that I have heard. I also understand the CO’s will enforce the law as written now. It is their job.

Governor - I doubt it. Next legislative session is what I am hearing.

I'm not sure the Governor has the authority to override the legislature in this case. Next session is easiest fix.

Yes, great news! Our collective voices were heard, almost restores my faith in politicians. Erin Houchin went to bat for us public land hunters. Best outcome for this season imo.

Personally, I think it had less to do with us and more to do with the Game Wardens and other DNR officials expressing concerns with confusion over the law.

I attended the District 8 open house in Oct and discussed it at length. COs and others expressed personal and professional reservations but said they can't change it. Advised me to work w my local politico as their "hands are tied" and they will issue lots of warnings but few citations. I know I made many, many phone calls and sent many emails from the Govenor on down. And many others did as well. You could hear the DNR Hotline operators discussing the situation with other callers when you called in to complain. If you were involved, you had big part in this outcome.
