Gentleman, I have a sweet spot on public land that is only accessible by boat - across a 20 meter creek (across).

I have hunted very near this location for years and I see tracks leading to this sort of Islandish area.

I have looked on Google Earth and it might be the only natural santuary in the history of public land.. ha ha.

But I need a very small boat, to get across this creek. It's too deep to walk across and its too wide to build something. But it is the perfect spot.

Any suggestions on the type of boat I can use?

Been lookin' at those... Thanks for that suggestion. Ever use them?

I did find a couple,

but I don't want to waste $100-$200 without a decent recommendation...

I'm seriously excited about this spot.

cheap kayak from dunhams would work.

If you want to go all out check out the Jackson Coosa kayak. Build for hunting and fishing.

I would think long and hard before going with an inflatable. You plan to use this in November right?

20m is a long cold swim

I have an Old Towne Stillwater 12 Canoe that would be perfect assuming you can drive somewhere close. It weighs just over 56# and is really easy to portage or carry. That way you can bring your deer back across which is not easy to do with a kayak unless you float them which creates its own hassles. Plus it's green so easy to camo to prevent unauthorized use and departure smile

Whatever you choose, wear a life jacket.

All great recommendations! Looking forward to this area. I've posted a pic of the area I'm trying to get to. Will likely hunt it next year since I always recon for weeks/months prior.

Man I wouldn't post that if I was wanting to keep it that no one else hunted it. Someone who wants to should be able to figure out where that is from the picture.

Already found it. Seriously I would take that down unless you just want to share it with everyone on the world wide web.

X2.....folks may hunt it already. I do believe there are public land sanctuaries though.
