I Would like to know if anyone out there uses the lip liker deer lure in early archery. I'd like to hear stories on how the product is used. I am hoping to get some great feedback. Safe hunting to all of you this season.

Wouldn't that be considered baiting?

I don't believe it is a bait if used in the proper manner. I have no desire to bait deer. To me that isn't good hunting ethics at all!!! Thanks.

Robinhood,

I use Lip Licker lure in the early season with great results. The ingredients are not intended for consumption. The IDNR defines baiting:
What is "baiting"?
Answer: Baiting includes any of the following: 1) a solid or liquid that is transported and intended for consumption, 2) salt, and 3) mineral blocks. An area is considered baited for ten (10) days after the removal of the bait or the baited soil. Hunting an orchard, or another area which may be attractive to deer as a result of normal agricultural activity, is not prohibited. Farmer's salt for livestock is not bait.(http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/2600.htm)

I typically apply the lure directly to the ground and also about 3' up a sapling. Deer generally come in close to evaluate the lure, but I have never seen one attempt to ingest it. It is a curiosity scent, similar to acorn or vanilla.

Good luck this season!

Me and several buddies have used it, also with great results! We like to use a drag rag with it, in to our stands from 100yds out or so; and then hang it on a low hanging branch near the stand.

The deer seem to be very curious to the "SCENT"!

4OZ. $14.95 You can purchase it at Hoosier Trapper Supply in Greenwood.Go east on main street. Drive on past the interstate 65 to 400. Turn left going back north and just before the bend they are on the right. The people at hoosier trapper are very nice folks and a great place for all of your taxidermy needs.

I'm a big fan of all of the scents available at HTS.

I used the Lip Licker, but only on scent wicks. I'll have to try applying it to the ground or using it on a scent drag.
