Guys and gals I cannot stress enough like others have said about wearing a harness. I have worked in the refinery business and still work in industrial maintenance, and as part of our PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) we have to have training once a year to stay certified in fall protection.
In our training they show the energy that is captured by a weight being dropped. It is amazing the shock that the body could take in a fall. I hope this helps in understanding the importance of using a harness and life lines and other fall equipment.
