"he was trying to relocate himself from the tree stand to the foot step below the stand when he lost his grip and feel 22 feet to the ground."

WHEN are people going to learn?? This guy is lucky to be a live after a 22 foot fall.

A $40 lifeline system could have saved all this pain and his medical expenses, likely in the thousands.

That is the most dangerous part of tree stand hunting. The transition too and from foot step to stand.

Life lines, life lines, life lines ... they could have prevented this.

I agree with the life lines and all that and I'm not trying to be judgemental, but what is a 64 year old man doing 22 feet up a tree? He may be in superb physical condition but I can't picture a 64 year old climbing that high into a treestand...I know I won't be when I'm that age.

Amen to that! I am 63 and I'm not near as nimble as I was even 5 or 10 years ago.
