Deer Liver Recipes - 12/26/2010 07:47 PM

Well I know I already posted this on deer heart, but can anyone give me advice on preparing/cooking deer liver? I'd imagine it would be like preparing liver for other animals, but I'm just checking.

Yea, I figured I'd glean more meat by keeping the heart and the liver, and it amounts to about 3 pounds more that could have gone in the gut pile and fed 'yotes, but I opted to keep them.

Thanks y'all!

First,,,get the "skin" off. Slice it about 1/4 inch thick and lightly flour. Place into the fry pan with some oil,,,and lightly brown on each side.

Slice up a bunch of white onions, and cover the liver completely.

Add enough water to cover the whole mix. Salt and pepper to taste. Simmer the entire mix for 2-3 hours,,covered with lid over the pan.

Make ya up a big pot of mashed potatoes and enjoy.

Save it for dog food. But then again I don't like any liver. I'd rather have a cheese burger
