Thanks Keith. There seemed like a bunch of times where the state was and then wasn't going to get the Pond. I've never been there but I do have an invite this year that I'll probably try to take advantage of.

Thanks, might take you up on that. Mr. Carter keeps telling me that I've got to get down there for a hunt. He says it is usually a nice time and that the property is impressive. The wife and I took the momarsh layout out this morning for a dry run to make sure my fiberglassing did its job on a small hole. That thing is really low to the water and drafts really well. We then sat in a dove field for about an hour. It was a nice morning to just be out there at Atterbury.

The effort to acquire Goosepond probably started over 20 years. Way back in 2005 the Goosepond effort really took off. These Outdoor Indiana articles highlight that acquisition and more...

Jack it was at least 20 years ago. Mac Moulden got me started on it way back then.. one of the first things i fought for.. that and savining hnf!.. lost that one... but man goose pond is an example to build on for sure..... great job by all that made a dream come true

Well? How was it today? Sure wish i could have made the trip today!
I was a little disappointed. I thought they'd have sketches of the visitor's center, but they did not. A few folks said a few words and the Friends of the Goose Pond made a $25,000 donation toward the construction of the visitor's center.
I will say that they did pick an awesome spot to build it. The view is incredible.

If anyone hunts down there this season ill tag along.. no gun and very little help id say!lol
The water is below normal. The location for the visitor's center is on the southwest part of the property.
