Walther PPQ M2 - 02/23/2013 06:46 PM

Picked up a Walther PPQ M2 in 9mm at Bullseye in Kokomo yesterday. Trigger on this gun is awesome, .1" reset. First ten rounds in the X ring at 10 yds. Was looking to get a .40 S&W, but inventories are low, so figured to get this with hi-cap mag while it was available.

Great balance and grip. Awesome gun if you're looking for something in this line...

The model 2 has a button mag release instead of the trigger guard type in the first model.

I'd say both the gun and the guy (in that vid) are both darn good shooters!!

Congrats on the new piece Kirk, looks like a good'n!

Agreed, Bow... when he gets with the rapid fire and you can see the brass lined up coming out of the pistol, you get some idea how fast that trigger reset works with somebody who can take advantage of it.

Will take some time to get used to not bringing my finger all the way back out, but with the fully cocked striker design, the trigger pull is velvet smooth with a quick break. Have only put about 50 rounds through it so far, but couldn't be more pleased with it.

I'm curious as to why you chose to buy the Walters PPQ M2 pistol?

I think you made a very wise choice but I'm hoping you will tell us that you did a lot of research and narrowed the choice down to the Walthers.

The PPQ or Police Pistol Quick is one **** of a semi automatic handgun. The gun shoots straight and returns to the target as the gun is balance to do that. The trigger is exceptional and some say it's the best trigger for the striker fired pistols on the market today.

It's my gun of choice when I think of a semi auto pistol.

After watching the video you can see why Walther's name this pistol "Police Pistol Quick". PPQ.

I just got a new holster (Stealthgear) for my PPQ M2 and started carrying the PPQ again. I was carrying a smaller Ruger LC9S Pro pistol in an original Alien Gear Cloak Slide leather/kydex OWB hybrid holster. The PPQ is a bit heavier and larger but it felt very comfortable using the Stealthgear OWB Flex holster.

I tried carrying the PPQ with all three of the Alien Gear IWB holsters and didn't like any of them. Maybe I just like OWB holsters better. I think that for me they are much more comfortable. But I'm bigger in the middle these days and the IWB type holsters don't work for me.

OWB type holsters are just much more comfortable to wear all day long. I can sit down in the vehicle or at the computer and the OWB holster at 3 O'clock is must more comfortable.

Went to the range yesterday and practiced my draw and shooting technique. It was hot out yesterday and I was sweating up a storm. But the holster felt comfortable. The Stealthgear holsters have a vent type material and holes are drilled in the kydex backing to allow moisture and air to flow though the holster in certain spots. The Stealthgear Flex OWB holster is way over priced IMHO but it's a good holster.
