imo really nothing wrong with your choice, but my buddy brought his woverine over to fullruts atv ride and had some issues on the hills, as the front end is very light, had lots of power, and speed but if the front is too light the tires might not get enough bite.. just a thought...

As far as the wolverine goes, it don't work worth a hoot. Not enough weight in the front end too make it work. Those suckers wouldn't climb a wet noodle. Hard to beat a honda.

take a good hard look at ArticCat. I have the 400 4x4. I have never had a problem and out run most other machines with similar engins. they also have better towing then other ATV's. mine will do about 53 mph top end, and that's stock.

thanks for the help so far guys. keep the info coming. as for as the wolverine i was afraid that it is to lite to perfom. i have looked at several makes and models and like i said i want something that is very trail rideable. i just want to try and stay away from the big 700s they are just to big in my opinion. my buddy has a blaster and i really like the speed and agility of it i just want something that can handle the mud and climbs and stuff. thanks, billy

First what are you wanting to accomplish with your ATV? Primary use to "possible" uses.

I guess that wolverine really isn't that bad. It just depends what you are wanting it for. If you are not a mud bogger or hill climber I would say it is alright. I beleive its for the guy who doesn't need 4 wheel drive very often, but when he does its there. Its more of a sport bike than a work quad.

Solo, what i really want if for is just to go and have fun on the weekends on trailrides and such events. But i also want one that is capable of pulling downed timber out of the woods. I cut alot of wood and would love to have a quad that is capable of pulling it out so i dont have to man handle it. As far as how rough of trails and stuff i would go on that just depends. I am the typical man and love doing crazy stuff so i am sure that i will get in situations that even the best of the best wouldnt get us threw so i really dont know how to pinpoint that. i just want one that wont let me down and be able to do all reasonalbe trails and hill climbs and mud pits. thanks alot guys you are really helping me out alot. billy

Last August traded in my Honda Rancher 350ES for a Honda 420 (manual)and it is a good work machine. As for pulling out timber I use a tractor. The ATV wouldn't pull out much with size, the 420 can pull a ground driven manure spreader fully loaded, but not drag a tree trunk. I traded in the electronic shift because both computers failed and they are expensive. I had many problems with the ES, so I wanted a fully manual machine that I could still rely on. I use my ATV as a working machine, manure spreader, wagon full of wood, drag a disk, spray, put up stands, etc. the 08 420 has a shift lever to put in in 4 wheel drive, the ES was fourtrax. Mechanically the 350 was sound, but the electronics left alot to be desired. Sounds like you want an all purpose type and I would tell the salesman what you want. When I could not fix this computer problem my self I went into my local Honda dealer and told my situation(he sold me the 350) and they worked a heck of a deal with me. I am much happier with the simplicity of the 420. Good luck.
