Couple Mounts Done - 02/09/2015 10:20 PM

The taxidermist finished my Indiana whitetail mount last week.

For those who like to hear scores....the final gross score was 148" & change. Net typical frame 143-0/8". Plus there are two sticker points measuring 1" and 3-1/8".

Finished at the same time was this Mountain Caribou that I arrowed in the Northwest Territories in August.

I really like the coloration of the cape. These things grow a crazy amount of antler!

As far as score, he ended up a little over 350 inches net. I think the P&Y minimum is 300.

Had a pretty good year....resulting in quite a bit of taxi work! He still has my Colorado Mountain Goat and Iowa whitetail yet to finish laugh

Great deer and 'Bou sticksender!!! Great looking mounts also. Was your caribou in velvet when you got him?? Mine was, and I wish I'd left it on…..The airline AND outfitter wanted a bunch more money to ship them back with the velvet on though….so I peeled it.

Yaz....got him on August 2nd in velvet.

I would've loved to have left it on, but the export paperwork and the crating/shipping arrangements takes weeks and the velvet would've rotted.

At least I got some good pictures. The full hunt story is at the link below:

Thanks for the comments. Plans are to go back up in '16 (if they get a cancellation), to try and complete the mission for a white sheep.
