anyone done this themselves??

I plan to give it a try for my 870 project gun to try to get the most out of my patterns.

I have not. 320-340 pellets in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards is good enough for me.

I did it using generic Scotch brite pads and made a slurry with oil and car polishing compound.

Yes I did it to my 835 with eithed venol or flitz, can't remember. It cleaned up the bore and made it slick. I used a cordless drill and 0000 steel wool. I think it made slight improvement in pattern and it cleans up easier probably because it is so smooth now.
