Typically I see a flock of hens (19) and about 9 old Tom's. Not this week so they must be splitting up into there territories and groups.

Been seeing 3 hens and 3 toms in the field across from the house almost every day....right now you can set your clock by 'em. I'm sure that will change come April 23rd....I think they read the same books we do!

Ive been feeding these 9 hens all winter. No toms in the bunch but one might be a jake or bearded hen. These same 9 have been around since deer season. With this many hens there has to be a tom or two close by. h.h.

The birds were not talking much this morning. Heard one gobble way off in the distance at the first stop. No gobbling after that although I did see two gobblers pecking along the edge of a little beanfield bordering public land. Then saw about 15 deer and one hen group of about 20 birds working a different beanfield also bordering public. Best sounds I heard were a couple hens down in a creek bottom just racking off the yelps and cuts for about 15 minutes. All in all a pretty good morning, just quiet. Didn't see strutters but hope to this afternoon.

I love all the turkeys showing up. I need to put my camera out. Only one jake on video on the camera so far.
