Spring 2013' Missouri Trip - 05/02/2013 01:50 PM

Well, I just got back from another fantastic turkey hunting trip in the great state of Missouri. The birds were gobbling good and coming to a call just as good the 4 days we stayed. I called in a double for one of my buddies and me on the very first morning! He got a 25 lb., 10 3/4 inch bearded and 1 1/4 inch spurs bird and mine was a 23 lb., whopping 15 3/4 inch bearded and 1 & 1 1/4 inch spurred bird. Then on the next day I was able to help call in a bird for my friend from Florida and it came in at 25 lbs., 13 inch bearded and 1 1/2 spurs bird. Then on our last day I was able to connect on my second bird with a real nice 24 lb., 10 3/4 inch bearded and 1 inch spurs bird. So we connected on a total of 4 real nice Missouri gobblers and would have had the other 2 tags filled if hadn’t been for the last two set up’s were messed up by coyotes that came right in to our calls and scared the gobblers off before they got into range. But overall another successful hunt for the three of us and we had so much fun and enjoyed some real nice spring weather.

daworz, it was on private land in Clark County NW - Missouri. Missouri does have a great deal of public land as well and it holds alot of turkey as well. smile
