Fake Rub

Fake Rub - 09/29/2014 08:13 PM

Trying out a little experiment after reading an article. Cut a hunk of a 4" diameter tree about 10' tall and set it up 20 yards in front of a stand for a fake signpost rub location / scrape location to stop them right in front of me.

Dug post hole 3.5' deep and set it in concrete so they cant push it over. Left some overhead limbs on it and roughed out the dirt for a scrape in front of it. Will add some scent.

Should be interesting?

I'm curious to see how it works out. It is definitely something I'd like to try.

I know Lee, of Lee & Tiffany, is a big fan of setting up a rubbing post like that.

"Planted" this one about 15 yards from the boy's stand. Tried it last year in this same plot but had turnips in it. Didn't see much activity on the tree. This year that it's in clover/chicory, it's been seeing some attention. No scrape under it yet, but they have been working the branches good.
