HB1563 also includes the legalization of silencers for hunting for those interested in that kind of thing.

I also got the chance to meet up with "tatto" from this website. He was there tracking a number of bills in his role as VP of the firemen's union. Maybe next week will slow down and we can meet up for lunch.

So it appears the only bill that would affect deer farming is the constitutional right to hunt and fish is moving forward?

I'm the most aggravated about the lack of action on lawn fertilizers. Our waterways are taking a beaten.

Correct. However there are still bills in the Senate that could effect that industry if passed.

SB340 - ethical hunting
SB373 - makes it illegal to record ag operations without consent
SB391 - much like 373
SB487 - non-resident hunting preserve fees (already passed 2nd reading in Senate)

It never got a hearing. However most commercial operators have voluntarily removed the phosphorous from their lawn treatment regime.

Legislation going from Senate to the House:

•SB 0487 -- Nonresident shooting preserve hunting fees.
•SB 0523 -- Registration of off-road vehicles and snowmobiles.

That's all folks.

What do you want to know? It has passed the full House and the Senate Natural Resources Committee. Waiting for full passage of the Senate. Then on to Guv.
