We found 25 little greys on March 25 last year, but it was a freak year. Never found any more after that.

I have always heard that the more snow we have the more mushrooms there will be in the spring
should be a bumper crop this year

I would think so, ground should be nice and moist. I know this time last year we were finding Greys.

As much as i hate the snow .. in years past when we had a late snow mushrooms were everywhere at my place..we woll see soon if my theory holds true soon.....

Probably just wishful thinking.. bring on spring!

Looked around yesterday at our place near Marengo. Nothing! No May apples, no small leaves yet. Too early this year. Looks like it will be awhile down there.

Went to the woods this morning and put fertilizer on our food plots. Looked around a little, the woods is dry. No wild flowers or may apples up yet. The weather is getting right and with some rain I think it is going to be a good year.

Been hearing on Facebook that several people are finding some in southern Indiana. I say hearing because I have yet to see a picture of any.

Four of us are hitting several spots Monday morning. Hope to clean some up.

I went Sunday afternoon. Looked like a heard of elephant had went through the woods. Found several places where someone had scrapped the leaves away and pulled something out. The hole was tiny though. Kinda makes me sick. Not that I didn't see any but that some jackhole was plucking the little tiny ones before they could grow.

On a lighter note. It's amazing how much tine May Apples look like morels from about 30 feet away. Maybe I need to get my eyes checked? :p

Found 4 yesterday, a penthouse and pair of woman's underwear, bobcat carcass, a hog skull and a few gobbling turkeys. Eventful day without many mushrooms.

If the person that picked the small mushrooms had left them, how soon would someone else had to be there to pick them before they were dried out and worthless?

My grandma and I found thirty-eight on Friday and eleven on Saturday. They were all quite small. It should be good by the weekend. Here's the first five...
