Michigan City Coho - 04/24/2018 12:32 PM

Fished lake Michigan yesterday at Michigan City. I trolled the mouth of the river and 1-2 miles offshore. Water was a little rougher than I wanted but doable. Speed was 2mph pulling crankbaits. Long lining floating Rapalas produced the best. Colors were gold/black and chartreuse.

I caught 5 coho salmon between 2-3 lbs., one 4 lbs. small-mouth which I returned and one condom that I pulled off with pliers and returned. If it had been anything else Id put in the trash bag.

I fished close to the shore once and the water was full of plastic bags and bottles, all kinds of stuff floating. Didnt realize the great lakes are in that kind of condition...sad indeed.

All day I lost 4 fish, two of them because of a loose drag. Fun day on the water....h.h.

Heres my catch of five coho....
