this appears to be IN legal for deer season with the .300 blackout and other rifle calibers in a AR pistol...

It is not a "shoulder mounted" device for a pistol.

The batfe has already ruled on it and said it is legal.

That is legal, while a bolt action rifle in the same caliber would not be...

The handgun must not be a rifle that has a barrel less than 18 inches or be designed or redesigned to be fired from the shoulder.

It appears this firearm meets the reg requirements for a legal deer hunting handgun in the state of Indiana.

BTW, this exact question was asked on another forum of a conservation officer and that officer agreed the firearm was legal.

No kidding. I have a couple guns similar to these, both shoot the SAME ROUND.

One is IN legal to hunt deer with. One is not. Only in Indiana!

Indiana needs to get with the program and at least make rifles legal in less populated counties. I have driven from the region to delaware county over 200 times 65-26-69 and there is nothing there outside of Lake county but the occasional farm house and crops.

Marion County and Lake county are populated... maybe fortwayne (whatever county that is in). Everything else is farms.

Easily, rifles may be allowed .243 and above when elevated at least 8 feet in a tree stand and must be 25 meters from a standing structure (home, business, barn)... easily implemented. 30-30 should be allowed, even though it doesn't kill as well as a 30-06.

I disagree... I understand your argument but either make it legal for all or none... A patchwork of legal here but illegal over there will cause nothing but confusion and aggravation for both hunter and CO's alike besides it makes for bad public policy... Uniform rules is the best policy and they way to go...

Personally, I wish they would banned all rifle cartridges only because they can't be used in ALL weapons... Allowing a cartridge in a handgun but not a rifle makes no sense to me whatsoever...

Right now we have different regulations for various regions, deer reduction zones, municipalities which don't allow firearms, etc.

No big deal to me, I hunt with what is legal. I will be hunting with my .243 pistol this year. With ear protection this thing is a blast to shoot and the accuracy of this round continues to amaze me.

I agree that centerfire rifles (shoulder mounted) should be allowed. But there are many populated areas throughout the state. Columbus, Seymour, Greencastle, Greenfield, Shelbyville, etc. on the small town side. Evansville, Louisville metro, Cincy metro on the bigger scale.

So trying to base it on population or terrain is an exercise in futility. I'd just as soon leave it the way it is than do that.

I don't really care all that much when it comes to killing deer. The old 12 gauge 870 is all I need for that. I'd just like to hunt deer with my rifles.
