Is it me.........or do more accidents happen like this these past years than normal. Just terrible. Sounds like it wasn't a "tree stand accident"....but the entire tree came down on this man.

Heart goes out to this family.......

Per the article, it appears that the rotted tree fell with him up in it. Tragic nonetheless.

Dew...I wonder the same thing. WHY do we seem to have more incidents when better safety options are available...and fairly inexpensive??

That stand had been there for a long time and the tree had actually grown up around the stand, combination of dead tree and a two man stand that was more than likely supporting the tree !
