IMO counting up B&C entries from a particular state may not be the best way to judge the overall quality of hunting there. Booners (170+ net typicals and 195+ non-typcials) are rare genetic freaks that most of us will never see in a lifetime of hunting any of the listed states. I see that Iowa and Kansas are well down the lists. But those two states are probably the dream destinations, and most coveted states for many guys who travel to hunt whitetails. That's why the auction NR deer hunting licenses for Iowa are selling for $15,000.00+ apiece now. The hunting is that good. A 145-165 buck will satisfy most!

not everyone has any intention of ever putting deer into one of those record keeping entities .. I dont and I wont, and I have more than a handful that would qualify, esp. for P & Y ..

That may be true for P&Y deer, they are a dime a dozen. However, I believe a majority of TRUE 170 net whitetails are entered.

I dont, there are guys I know now that have never done so (B&C) and have no urge to do so, they hunt deer because it is what they do/they are, not for recognition in some book ...
