Around 6:00pm on Nov 1st, I was watching 4 doe feeding in the cut bean field about 300yds away, I would glass down that way with my DTO 12x50 binos every few minutes while keeping a close eye on my immediate surroundings. About 6:15 I saw what looked to be a good buck, all of a sudden, now in the field harrassing the does! I lifted my binos to get a better look at him. Took about 7-8mins of watching him moving around to see his rack at different angles... then I knew he was a buck that I would like to run an arrow through! I grabbed my Black Rack rattling horns, and my Buck Roar grunt call and started my "fighting sequence"! He threw his head up glaring towards my direction. He stared my way for 30-45 seconds, then went to lunging back at the does around him again. I gave him another sequence with a little more aggression this time! He stopped and glared my direction again, this time for 2 or more good minutes. At almost 6:30 he turned, exiting the field angling towards me, and walked into the woodline well over 250yds away... ALONE! GAME ON BABY!!! Around 6:45 I saw him slipping through the thicker cover to my left heading directly behind me... about to be DEAD DOWNWIND! Grabbed my bow, got turned around and on him...... let out a soft MAAH. He stopped apprx 15yds before getting my wind! Next thing I knew... a bright lighted nock was on it's way! Perfect 30yd shot, he was down in less than 60yds! THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR BLESSINGS ON ME!!!
