Put a couple pounds of deer roast (any cut really) in a crock pot with lots of onion (cut how you like), green peppers, banana peppers (any kind of peppers you like), and some fresh mushrooms.
Add any and all kinds of dry seasonings you like (I like lots of black pepper and Spicy Montreal).
As the meat tenderizes (cooks a while), shred up the meat with a fork.... let simmer.
Then apply to any type of bread you wish (I used hoagie rolls).... and slap on your favorite cheese (I used melted jalapeno jack cheese).
Way easy to make, and very delicious!

That sounds really good. How long do you let it cook? What temp? Do you add any soups or liquids?
A bad day in the woods or on the lake is better than a good day in the office.

If you put it in an electric crock pot (like I did), it was on high for a good 3-4hrs. I added no additional liquid, than what cooks out of the meat and peppers/onions. It'll be plenty juicy!

WOW! That is good! I had this last night on two eye of the round roasts from a 1.5 year old buck and one from a yearling doe. -used plenty of pepper and montreal steak seasoning, also used some italian seasnoning -I added ~1/2 cup water to make the meat a bit more moist (not sure if it was needed or not) -no mushrooms, they do not agree with me -cooked for 4.5 hours on high in a crockpot, the meat was incredibly tender -used hoagie rolls and pepper jack cheese

I'm glad you tried it! Sounds like you enjoyed it as much as I do.... they're great! I don't know why, but I just thought of it one day, and decided to try making it. Wasn't sure even how to go about it. And then I thought....... I'll just try it in the crock pot, so I don't have to baby sit it. And WAH-LAH!!

Hey Tobias, on Sunday, we were putting the boat away from the lake trip on Sat! Oh, and like Corey says...... I need a place to shoot some doves! (isn't that what I read? :p ) So can we (me and you maybe) shoot some birds over at Howards place this season? I'd like to have some for Corey when he gets home from Iraq! Deer Chili............. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

i make something the same but i take the roast and slice em into very thin slices and then cook em in the skillet...
Huntin is not a matter of life and death, its more important than that
