Well crap!!!!! I was going to set some traps today cause I can't see a darn deer. So I drive past my tractor shed with the 4 wheeler, I stop grap a Dp and start to walk, all of a sudden an 8pt jumps up and runs, stops 40 yards and looks at me. All I have in my hand is a darn Dp trap that I want to throw at him. So I headed back to the house instead to go hunting again. GRRRRRRRRR. Why is it when you are deer hunting you see coons and when you are trapping you see deer. mad

Another skunk and kitty cat today. I did kill another deer today. We were down to 3 packages and had to restock. After I gutted her I set 2 coyote traps in front of the pile. I tool a couple logs and made it so whatever went to the pile had to go in a certain way. See if it works tomorrow.

Rub it in on the deer kill bean. Well I will tell ya where you went wrong on this set. You set 2 coyote traps in front of the pile. All you will catch is 2 opposums. You should have set 2 opposum sets and then you will catch a yote. smile See how that works.

I'm calling a crow for bean tomorrow!!!!! Ya'll heard it here first!!!! laugh Good luck bean! Nab one of those yappers!!!! I heard one bark and carry on for 20 minutes, a 1/2 hour before dark tonight while sitting in a stand. I just grinned from ear to ear!!! Just a matter of time!!! laugh Other than that....no deer, and a total blank on traps.

Like you bean, I need to find some place to move some sets to so I can stay away from my deer woods a while longer......

I blanked yesterday too. I kinda cheated and put a DP along the creek off my back deck last night and caught a coon this morning. Kinda like catching one of my pets!!! :p I took care of it and came to work. I have a feeling that'll be the only thing I catch today.

Ok, I put out 6 DP's for coon and a couple snares for coyotes. I'll let you know tomorrow if I catch anything. I've only put out a few snares the last few years trying to cut down the coyote population. Haven't set for coon before but figured if prices are going up might as well try to recoup some gas money.

0 for 6 on the dp traps this morning. With the rain and warmer temps they should run tonight.

had 3 of my 6 DP's set off and licked clean. had a big marshmallow under the trigger (which was still there) and cat food was all gone. What do I need to do different to get them to pull the trigger?

Duke's. pull only and I did spear them. Funny thing was they really didn't seem to want the marshmallow, just the cat food.

did have a big dog, looked like a husky mix, in a #3 I had set in front of a snare. petted him for a while before I was brave enough to get down in his face to let him out. He scampered right off down the ditch bank as soon as I let him go. laugh

you will get them

I actually prefer a stickier bait I mix up. They really have to work it to get it all out. Lots of guys use the dry cat and dog food but what happens if the coon dumps it out then eats it off the ground?

I had several hits like that the past few days and it was SKUNKS....

Everyone that was licked clean, I ended up catching skunks. The one today had a never ending spray.

=) And don't expect one from me. After locking eyes with both skunks I have caught this year, I momentarily panicked and then engaged in a 'controlled retreat' before taking cover behind a tree and shouldering the rifle. Taking a photo never crossed my mind

Grinner today on my gut pile. Had yote tracks all around him. Reset and added a dirt hole since guts are all gone. Doesn't take them long to make them disappear.
