My son took the gig and got 7 himself, I got us a few as well. Left plenty for the next time. The first couple he caught were small then after that he let the little ones go just wanted the big ones. Good catches to you also Delaney. Gonna be a good season I think.

Nice going and he sure looks happy. Found another place today up towards Lebanon that's got a lot of good ones but is going to be a little tricky to gig. We even had a nice conversation with the police tonight that stopped and asked us what we were doing. They laughed and wished us luck. What kind of light are you using, my spotlight is dying and I'm thinking of a new one.
Delaney nIce start! Trad those are some huge frogs for real my hole holds nothing like that plenty of the just big enough to spear size and get a leg nugget congrats both of you and I caint wait to get out now
Hanes the big mag lights. Plenty of light and last all the summer giggin season

I've got mine saved weed if ya wanna try it. I freeze the scraps and use em for coon pocksets along the river.

Good Job!! I know a lot of guys just keep the back legs. I keep the back and th front legs also. Everything but the head. There is alot of good meat on the back and front legs of those big boys.

Weed, with Parker's comments, which I will try later this week when we go and get another dinner or two, we are very close to cooking the WHOLE frog!

The wife just couldn't come to grips with the backs and front legs so it's the same old back legs only. Spent the entire week off my feet due to a severe attack of gout, but the medication kicked in late yesterday so we limped our way through about 15 minutes tonight for these few. There were still a lot looking at us.
Good deal, my son and I caught 4 tonight, we just got in. Well I was light man he was gig man. Gonna try a few new spots here in the next few weeks. Seeing about 4-5 big frogs now instead of the 15 or so we saw last week when we caught those ones. Gonna give those ponds a rest and let em be Til next year. Anyone know how long it takes frogs to get big?

Good going. I don't know how long it takes. There has to be a lot of good apartment ponds near you. Turtles are on the agenda also now.

Takes anywhere from 3-5 years for a frog to reach maturity.

PSE, I believe you can take frogs anywhere that permission is granted when they are in season. I've always questioned whether frogs can be taken in State Parks and as such haven't considered State Parks.

Golf courses can be really good places. Used to hit a couple country golf courses out west of Indianapolis that really produced well. But, I've been ran off a few also!

About six or seven frogs at Beaver Bottoms at Atterbury that sounded decent this morning. Water is up and it would be a tough task but it would good challenge from a boat.
