I wish we had taken more pictures over the years. But, between Dad, me, two brothers, and uncles, a deer didn't even have a chance to cool off, let alone take pictures of it. We killed 'em, and ate 'em.

Yaz, there were alot of deer that found that hanging tree in George's back yard.

As long as the pictures don't get too far out of line they will not be deleted........ different era, different standards.

It was killed in the Fall of 1986 in my grandparents farm in WV. Killed with a 30-30 and shot at 2 yards.

Note: I am wearing old bottoms from a traveling ball team I was on and was styling w/ the jean jacket.

These pics sure bring back alot of old memories don't they. I for one think Joe looks pretty kewl. Looks like he ought to be holding an electric guitar rather than a deer though. lol.

Both of these pics are from the early 1980's...

First deer with a bow (Bear Whitetail Hunter with the black rubber factory rest...don't even know how I hit her).



And....... Yep, for the horror for all you muscle car fans....I threw her in the back of my 1969 Pontiac GTO 4-Speed Convertible. Fastest ride to the Check Station for any deer ever in the state.....LOL!! The worst part was getting down the 1/2 mile mud lane in that car.....but I put that Posi to work..... Funniest part of the night.....I cleaned up, went out on a date with some girl on campus, and we made out in the back seat with that deer in the trunk.........she never knew. The back window was steamed up before we even got back there. LOL!!!!!!

Next pic was quite symbolic of just how determined I was........No ATV, No Horse, No Tractor, No treestand..........just another poor college buddy and a hack-saw to cut up a dead tree and some ski rope to tie her on and a 1/2 mile trip out of that woods you see in the back. That would put me in my grave today........back then we were all smiles doing 3-a-days for the College baseball and basketball team. LOL!!

This last pic is of my buddies family taken in the late 80's. All of those deer were taken here in Kosciusko County in the 60's, 70's and 80's. It was not uncommon in the 70's while hunters all over Kosciusko County were struggling to get their buck........this group was done by the end of the weekend with bucks hanging all over in the barn from that specific area of the county they hunted. Pretty impressive area of hunting........which we STILL hunt to this day.

Here's one of Gundude's son, Parker, that he took several years ago. Square between the eyes with an old Model 97 Winchester. I believe Parker is a senior in high school this year. Maybe Keith will chime in with the story...funnier than heck...

None of us needed the newest and bestest scent free camo..........plaid worked fine.

HEYYYYYY...... I still still wear wool and flannel!!! I have green plaid for early season, brown for fall, and gray for winter!!!! other than a cotton t shirt for turkey and squirrel hunting, I can't remember the last actual camo garment I have bought!!! Guess I ain't cool any more!

Thought this might be cool to add to this thread.....Fish and Game laws of Indiana from 1938.......

Dew that was cool What stuck out to me was a prairie chicken season and there was not a coyote season or deer. How things have changed in regards to them.

That was very cool to see thanks dew. Also noticed a year round season for grey fox. Things sure have changed.

Doves and Turkeys were off limits too back then. Small game hunting was KING apparently in 1938....

When my father passed, I found his old Nitro King 12ga. in the closet. He had this gun as a kid and literally wore it out. I still have the gun, but it's not safe to shoot, as it won't lock-up very well.

ANYWAY...while I was looking at the gun, I noticed a sliver of paper sticking out beneath the butt-plate. Curiosity got the best of me, so I removed the plate. Stuffed into the stock was his hunting license from 1952! The writing and hand signatures are mostly faded, but still legible if you look closely. I laminated it, and it resides in my safe. Thought it was pretty cool to see all the changes that have occurred throughout the years.

Yeah that is my uncle washing down some feathers and gunpowder after the hunt.... :p

Its my birthday and i have a date with my therapist! ...(both of them)... lucky me.......

Mid 80's ish. May have been the year before I got married. Still have that wool plaid shirt, and plain olive drab pants. The hat was the only camo I owned. Have tried all the "high tech" hunting clothing, and went back to wool years ago.... Still hunting with the same bow. I may have one earlier picture in the late 70's of a buck I shot..I'll keep digging.

Great buck and I like the car In '67 that Merc was only about 5 years old. I can't say you'd see me put a deer in the trunk of a 2008.
